I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. I'm trying to create a bootable USB to use on a Win7 Black Screen problem. I can't seem to open Unetbootin or find the Icon to run it. When I downloaded it, in the download file it showed several boxes and a diamond shaped Unetbootin icon, but couldn't get it to run.
I apologize for the multiple replies, I didn't think they were posting.
It doesn't make a lot of sense. You said you are having problems in Windows and you cannot download or install anything in Ubuntu. What happens in Windows has no bearing on Ubuntu. Are you using Wubi?
Let me rephrase: I am using Ubuntu 12.04 to try and make a USB disk. It will be used on a different OS, Windows7 (on a different PC). I can't figure out how to install Unetbootin after it is downloaded. I'm sorry, I don't know what Wubi is.
Not using Wubi. I am using Ubuntu 12.04.
Thanks for trying guys. I found the answer on YouTube: (It is BEST to download Unetbootin from the Ubuntu Software Center as opposed to direct from the Unetbootin web site). Go to Dash, at the bottom of the page select the Applications icon (the 2nd icon from the left), then type Unetbootin in the Search Bar. Select "Install" and it will install. Follow directions from there or watch a Unetbootin tutorial on YouTube.
Using this method will avoid the huge problems I encountered when trying to download and install from a web site.
