Lubuntu 12.04 restricted extras

Tried every terminal command I could find on the forum such as
sudo apt-get install lubuntu-restricted-extras
keep getting E:Unable to locate package lubuntu-restricted-extras
Any other suggestions?

Lubuntu 12.04 is out of support, which could explain the error message. Better to begin with a fresh install of 14.04.

It was released on 17th April. So it isn't beta currently.

Thanks. Not having experience of using a new version,is it better to wait for a month or so, or are all bugs addressed?

There will never be a time when all bugs are adressed, but I have not had any trouble myself. Best you can do is trying 14.04 in a live boot and see for yourself.

I only have a netbook so no cd drive.I downloaded my 12.04 to an SD card but can't find the link to where I got it from.Can anybody point me to that or a usb version?

I run Lubuntu on a test box and feel pretty good about it. This is what I like to see ..

This does not mean you will have a trouble free install, but the odds are good
