14.04 clobbers Evolution configuration - have to run Evolution Setup Assistant

I'm trying to migrate to 14.04 from 12.04.
Can't do it all at once and its going to take some time before I get fully migrated.

When I log onto 14.04 and then go back to 12.04, starting Evolution brings
up the Evolution Setup Assistant and I have to restore my email data from backup.

There is something 14.04 is doing that clobbers my Evolution data.
I am sharing my /home partition (/dev/sda3) with both of the Ubuntu installations.
    I have the root partitions as: /dev/sda1 = 14.04 and /dev/sda4 = 12.04

I tried preserving ~/.local/share/evolution and ~/.config before rebooting into 14.04.
Still when I go to 12.04 and restore those folders, I still get the Evolution Setup Assistant
and have to restore Evolution from backup.

I think the configuration for Evolution is stored in yet another folder.
