Re: how can i remove upside and downside bar in ubuntu gnome

I don't think that's possible in the new GNOME Classic which is actually GNOME Shell with some cherry-picked extensions:

You might be better off using the flashback session:

I've never used cairo dock though so I could be full of baloney!

Re: how can i remove upside and downside bar in ubuntu gnome

It should come up as a option at login ...... cairo

I have it set up and its clean and very nice to use too - with compiz running .....

Cairo sets itself up as a separate login choice - but I think this only shows when using the KDE/KDM login

( never quite sure how it sets itself up - but it often just shows up as a choice for me in KDM ..... )

Possibly needs compiz installing too ...... the indicators are to the left which shows too - that it possibly
is linked into some of the Unity style ..... (rather than Gnome-Shell ..... which uses mutter I think ......)
This is definately running with compiz for me too as I have wobbly windows and transparency in the terminal
which in Gnome-shell was not working the last time I tried it .........

By the way there are no bars in this just the dock .....

Re: how can i remove upside and downside bar in ubuntu gnome

    I reinstalled the Ubuntu Unity
And before I did something I installed Cairo Dock

    I did log out
    And then Log In
    Through Cairo
    That is all

    What I wanted

I use in Cairo with 10.04 for a long time
It did not know there is this possibility

Would save me a lot of headache

    Thanks for the help

If you just see the background and that is all ........ do

    Ctrl + Alt + T ............. then type

    cairo-dock
into the terminal that pops up ......... also

I just use the addons tab in cairo to select any other things I need - or drag and drop things onto the bar

The other thing is altering the theme to one that I like that already has the extras added to it ............

usually just right click the dock and configure .... that is all

Have you got it running now - can you post a screen shot of what you see .........
