    Firefox v28 or 29 in Ubuntu 10.04(SOLUCIONADO)

Hello good. You will see. Using Ubuntu 10.04 with firefox browser version 20. Would like to install the version 28 or 29 if possible. I think that way some functions that can not be done with version 20 would be resolved with versions 28 or 29. Thanks. Greetings.

Hola buenas. Vereis. Gracias. Saludos.

You're right that some things cannot be done in Firefox 20, having good security for example. Firefox 20 is unsupported and so is Ubuntu 10.04 – except for the server version, but that has no web browser. Better to move to a supported release of Ubuntu and you'll automatically get the latest Firefox (28, 29 hasn't been released yet). If you insist, you can download the latest Firefox from Mozilla and run it on your system, or at least try. I can't guarantee it will work on Ubuntu 10.04. It doesn't require installation.

If you do this make sure you have seperate profiles or they will keep changing your profile when one is open after the other. Or make sure you delete FF 20 before you open 28 or 29.
You will have to have the mozilla next ppa to get 29.

With those specs Lubuntu 14.04 may be worth a try. It's much lighter than Ubuntu and has 3 years of support. Try the live disk.

When you install or upgrade there is no easy way back, other than reinstalling the old version. You could however dual boot the old and new version, if you have enough hard drive space.
