can someone please tell me what version of unity is supposed to be running on 14.04 I have unity 7 is it supposed to be unity 8

I suggest in the future in this circumstance:

Reply to your own post instead of editing it. This takes it out of the "unanswered posts" list.

Mark your thread solved. This takes it out of the "unsloved threads" list.

These things reduce the waste of other people's time.

Also, unless it was the kind of question that any search engine provides an instant answer for, leave the question and either link to or explain your solution so the next person that searches for the same thing will find your helpful explanation.

I'm on 14.04. I don't do unity but Synaptic saith 7.2.0+14.04.20140414.1-0ubuntu1
