You might want to delay that bug report, at least until some others have commented. gksu nautilus is working just fine in my Trusty system, fully updated only a few hours ago. If I sudo -i in a terminal I can open a root nautilus as well, albeit with a bit of system grumbling about being unable to open usershare directory /var/lib/samba/usershares.
My Dell laptop launches gksu nautilus just fine.
