    Ubuntu Online Summit Dates

    Jono Bacon announces the dates of the first Ubuntu Online Summit (UOS) which will feature not just developer discussions but will also include presentations, demos and tutorials. Jono informs us that the UOS will take place from 10th-12th of June, 2014 and that there will be a hangout at 1700 UTC on 10th April 2014 to get ideas for the event.

    Shutting down Ubuntu One file services

    Jane Silber informs us of Canonical's plans to shut down Ubuntu One's file services, acknowledging that it was a very tough decision, given that so many users have come to rely so heavily on the functionality which Ubuntu One provides. Jane provides dates for the ending of various services, and assurances that the shutdown will not affect the Ubuntu One single sign-on, payments or U1DB database services.
