SAMBA user limitation

hi! I want to create a PDC-AD with UbuntuServer12.04+SAMBA....

I already bookmarked some tutorials here and some videos on youtube for my guide...

my quick question now is...

is there a LIMIT on number of user you can create in SAMBA? we have thousand of students that are going to use our computer laboratory...each student must have there own user account..

is there a limit?

if yes, how can I bypass, or extend that limit?

I don't know of any limits regarding simultaneous connections that are artificial. There could obviously be hardware limitations on the type of network you are using, bandwidth of your network and your network card(s).

SAMBA shares have also been somewhat slower than shares in Windows but that is just me talking from past experience in 10.04...have not run any test comparisons with the new samba version...however, I am interested since I'm thinking about setting up Linux box as a file server for Windows users.
