No, you won't have to reinstall, normal updates will take you to the finished release.

Thank you for reply.
Am running 14.04 /64 now for two hours, installing, anything I needed from previous version. Anything runs smoothly.
Was sceptical at the beginning, since I have a new desktop with
ASROCK FM2A55M-HD, AMD A55 Socket FM2
AMD FM2-A10-77Black
The graphics is Radeon which is integrated on the mainboard.
So i wondered if Ubuntu would have the propiate RADEON drivers .
Anything is ok here

I installed it and all worked find until the one update, and I was locked out of just about everything, it wouldn't recognize my administrative password or status. I had to reinstall 13.10. I couldn't access the internet or files or anything. Still not sure what happened or why. Have been searching for others having similar problems but having as yet. So I think I will wait for the completely stable version to be released, and keep the boot DVD available just incase it happens again after that.
Hi, Howefield,

Is there a way to preview Unity 8 in Ubuntu 14.04, I don't see it and I thought I read somewhere it was suppose to be able to be tested and played with in 14.04?

I appreciate that, I had installed it and not very impressed though I understand the Unity 8 available right now is more for phone and tablets but I will continue to watch updates come to see how it evolves for the desktop experience cause if this is what Canonical has in mind for desktop might as well just use Windows 8.
