I going on the assumption this is about a classic-like session.
Shell does have a kind of hidden bottom panel thingy though, where the stuff like removable devices show up down there.
If it is 14.04, then maybe this the classic that comes with gnome-shell and not the flashback version.
Speculating...

Yes, it is Classic,
I just logged into that session to see for myself
OP is right , Super+ Alt+Right Click or Super+R+right click doesn't do it .

Just checked it is Verision 13.10..
It is Gnome shell 3.10, not 13.10.
Have a look here : http://askubuntu.com/questions/13278...tom-in-gnome-3

I've not found any way to edit the "panels" in the new GNOME Classic

Actually, I was running Saucy with Gnome 3.10 , adding the Next & Staging PPA's till February this year.
Saucy came with Gnome3.8 by default, if I remember correctly. Using Gnome 3,10, I didn't get 'Classic' in Saucy.
If I am not mistaken, OP is running Trusty with Gnome and hence has a 'Classic' session
Correct me if I am wrong, isn't kansasnoob using Trusty from last November?
