I don't think any supported version of Ubuntu runs 3.2 anymore.
However, 14.04 is up to 3.10, with(I believe) 3.12 through the gnome ppa.
Very confusing indeed. 3.12, maybe OP missed the '1'.
But what I an pondering, is I use Gnome 3.4 with my Debian, but there is no bottom bar!
    Never was!

Ok, Gnome Classic, but 14.04 comes with Gnome 3.10 not 3.2 .Sorry, I missed a post there.

    Gnome classic session maybe.
I going on the assumption this is about a classic-like session.

Shell does have a kind of hidden bottom panel thingy though, where the stuff like removable devices show up down there.

If it is 14.04, then maybe this the classic that comes with gnome-shell and not the flashback version.

    Yes, it is Classic,
I just logged into that session to see for myself

    OP is right , Super+ Alt+Right Click or Super+R+right click doesn't do it .

It is Gnome shell 3.10, not 13.10.

    Have a look here : http://askubuntu.com/questions/13278...tom-in-gnome-3

Read the answers at bottom, some ways are suggested.

I've not found any way to edit the "panels" in the new GNOME Classic

I'm thinking the OP is referring to Ubuntu 13.10(saucy).
Which also leads me to wonder...

Actually, I was running Saucy with Gnome 3.10 , adding the Next & Staging PPA's till February this year.
Saucy came with Gnome3.8 by default, if I remember correctly. Using Gnome 3,10, I didn't get 'Classic' in Saucy.

If I am not mistaken, OP is running Trusty with Gnome and hence has a 'Classic' session

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't kansasnoob using Trusty from last November?
