Installation fails when installing 64-bit version of Ubuntu (or Xubuntu)

I keep getting this error message while trying to install the version for 64 bit computers:

I have Ubuntu on a flashdrive and am running to install it. It then gives me this error immediately after selecting "Install Ubuntu":

"Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)"

This error doesn't happen when I install the 32 bit version, but the same thing happens in Ubuntu and Xbuntu.
Before anyone asks, my computer is deffinitely able to support 64bit. My motherboard and processor are 64 bit.

I have searched this problem for hours and although there were plenty people reporting it, nothing is working for me.

I tried to follow this thread, but Rescue mode doesn't even appear for me:

I don't have any idea where to start trying to fix this.
