Creating a Wireless Adhoc network

I'm trying to create a wireless adhoc network with the Create a New Wireless Network wizard. However, my laptop tries to connect to it, and doesn't.
I don't see the wireless network I created on other computers.

I've searched on Google for people having similar problems and found this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1412707
So I made sure that I uninstalled dnsmasq and only have dnsmasq-basic installed. But the problem still persists.
