I have just installed lubuntu 14.04 in virtualbox 4.3.8 in a windows 7 x64 host. Did all the updates, when I go to start Firefox it immediately crashes. I was using xubuntu before with no problems. I have installed the virtualbox extras that were in the extra driver applet. I installed chromium for the time being, but I prefer firefox. I am just wondering if anybody else had this issue or not.
Maybe this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...x/+bug/1278062
Hi, I was getting a similar error in VirtualBox. It was crashing Virtualbox itself. But disabling 3D acceleration in Virtualbox settings solved the problem for me. Indeed enabling 3D acceleration was causing many applications to crash, not just firefox
