I have an older account here that I used before the forums got hacked. Now I had to create a new one to login with and use since I can't find a way to login with my old name. I can see my old account when I search for the name so I know it hasn't been deleted. How, if possible, can I get back to it and forget about this new one?

ihatetryingtopickaloginna registered with an account @gmail.com. The simplest way to regain that account is to set the SSO preferred email address to that registration address. When that is done, this account can be disassociated, and your next login will re-link you with the old account. If the email address is no longer accessible, there are other options.
