What you can acomplish with Xfce

When I first started with Ubuntu, I went with Xfce.
However, I didn't know what its capabilities / Limits were.

So, this is for all of you Windows / Mac users who want to know what you can accomplish with Xfce / Xubuntu

You can make an environment that looks like Windows
    Windows-Desktop.jpg

You can also make an environment that looks similar to OS X
    Mac-Desktop.jpg

Or you can make your own completely different environment

There is a lot more you can do with Xfce, these are just the three profiles on my computer.

I think it would be nice for some of you other Xfce users to post screenshots of your desktop too!
    Things to remember :
    - Use proper english
    - Comment your code
    - Keep background information and introductions to a minimum

Mine is just the standard one as I hop from OS to OS. Usually have 3 or 4 going at the same time.

This one is Xubu 12.04 with high-contrast icons and "screenlets" (because for a few weeks the weather applet didn't work). Nice February wallpaper and two panels: The bottom one is just a few launchers for frequently used stuff, and the narrow top panel is a task bar with notifications.

Yep, Xfce is pretty great. Very light and good looking in Xubuntu. The shimmer team is doing a heck of a job!

elementary OS satisfies my needs in every way. Where I'm kind of forced to wait until post 14.04 release for Isis (12.04 aka Luna just does not bode well with my hardware), I'm settled sort of with Xubuntu. I normally hop 5 times a month, unless I have elementary OS which I use constantly (especially on my Asus).

Yeah I did like the look and speed of Elementary OS. Will definitely give them a closer look when they catch up repo wise. I tried Luna and was a pain to get anything to work or install due to the ancient repos and packages.
