    Re: How to remove file?

Click on the big red button 'Go Advanced'

and far down (below the editing window) see 'Additional Options' and a grey button 'Manage Attachments'. Click on it and follow the instructions to attach your screenshot picture file.

    Will try, thanks.

Sorry, but where is the big red button? What page do I need to be on? Thanks.

The big red button is orange...
Lower right of the edit window are three buttons "Post Quick Reply", "Go Advanced", "Cancel".
If it's a LARGE image, please use a thumbnail - it'll be removed or reduced anyway...

    Re: How to remove file?

Please put new things (like the screenshot) in a reply (alias new post). It is easy to overlook edits in old posts.

    -o-

I would not like to remove xserver-common. Try instead to install vlc via the command line like this

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    Code:
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install vlc
and let us know what happens (what output there is from the commands). Put the output within code tags (Go Advanced, mark the text and click on the # icon at the top of the editing window).

By the way, which version of Ubuntu are you running? (If it is Trusty Tahr, the problem might be that there is not yet a vlc version ready for it. Trusty is not released yet.)

    Re: How to remove file?

There seems to be something wrong with xserver-common-lts-raring

    Try
    Code:
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
    - What file is it? Do you use some ppa, that might create this problem?

Edit: OK, after Iowan's editing I saw that you use 13.10. But what about some ppa or other special program package, that you have installed?

    Re: How to remove file?

Also you dropped the c in vlc, it should be

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install vlc
But it won't work until you have fixed the problem with the package xserver-common-lts-raring

Or have you activated some special repository?
