    Booting from USB not working

    Hi

I'm new to Ubunto and am trying to boot from a USB. I downloaded version 12.04. I used the pendrivelinux.com software to put it on the USB.

When I try to boot from the USB I get the error msg:

    Could not find kernel CONFILE
    boot:

any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
I've tried changing the boot order in BIOS but there are 4 different USB options and I'm not sure which is right but I've tried them all.

    Thanks

    Hi lindsey2,

I agree with the above. It works great across all systems.

Perhaps, the problem is you didn't install Ubuntu into the flashdrive properly. Assuming you're on a Windows machine, try the following steps.

    0. Format your USB.
    1. Select your downloaded disk image.
    2. Install it into your USB.
    3. Boot the USB.
    4. Select either Install Ubuntu or Try Ubuntu.

    Hope this helps.
