HD 6450: Installed AMD Radeon Drivers for 13.04, Now Ubuntu Won't Boot!

So I bought a new graphics card (HD 6450) and installed the Catlyst drivers from AMD's website for linux, and after restarting, Ubuntu just hangs after GRUB on the Ubuntu load screen. I tried to boot in failsafe mode as well, and the same thing happens. I'm wondering if it thinks I have more than one monitor (I don't) and if it's only showing me the second one.

I have no idea what to do, please help!

Will it work if you are just trying Ubuntu from your dvd/flash?

I too am wrestling with Radeon drivers (not you combination of card and operating system) and found The Radeon Community page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver to be of help.
I did however download and write to usb memory stick via unetbootin and run the latest daily copy of Trusty Tahr http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and much to my pleasure it booted into a desktop of sorts.
    I have hope for 14.04.
