Video editor with awesome effects and keyboard shortcuts.

Hello. I am considering moving back to windows. At least until Sony Vegas or similarcomes to linux.
I miss making YouTube Poops, and I can't do that with any of that free stuff (openshot, kdenlive etc).
What I wanna know is if there are any good video editors coming to linux that actually does have the cool and crazy sony vegas type of effects?
Kdenlive and openshot are both clumsy in one way or another.
Kdenlive has a lot of good effects, but buggy as hell and crashes when I really don't need it to. And they have the longest menus full of different effects rather than a workable UI.
Openshot is limited when it comes to effects and shortcuts doesn't work, so I can't do thing fast and be productive.
And Lightworks doesn't support clips, and I'm not gonna spend my time converting everything.
I have also tried sony vegas, magix and a few others under Wine. Followed every tutorial available and tried a bunch of different things.
Nothing seem to work. It either doesn't work at all or the effects aren't working or things are just way too unstable. And I really can't work like that.
Openshot and kdenlive would both be suitable if only they could spend some more time polishing and make things work.
Because openshot has too many playback issues. Makes editing small clips very complicated and frustrating.
And kdenlive needs a way better UI for their effects than these long menus with effect titles. They need buttons and knobs like Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Magix Video edit, Final Cut and Pinnacle Studio has.
Damn I wish we could have at least one of these in linux, which brings me back to topic at hand.
So any help would be appreciated. Tips, suggestions etc.. Because I really do not wanna leave linux, but I feel like it's holding me back mainly due to lack of video editing software.

Finding a video editor is a very personal process. Professionals use Linux to edit videos all the time, but those are commercial solutions in the $2K price range. On the lower/free end, I can only suggest checking a few websites for alternatives ...
    * alternativeto.net
    * freecode.com
    * google "product-name vs" to get more ideas.

Honestly, I use a Windows video editor too. AviDemux is the linux tool that is the closest to what I need, but not there yet either., Doing video editing under WINE - that sounds painful. If you have the correct hardware, it is possible to get direct GPU access for a virtual machine running a different OS with Linux as the hostOS. I don't have that hardware available for GUI programs, so can't make any recommendations, but others have.

BTW, I don't use any of the programs you mentioned under Windows, so I suspect our edit needs are VERY different.

Well if you really want serious video editor then you won't find anything better then Lightworks right now.
So if need those things that you said you need and none of those editors suit you, then I'm afraid you will need to dual boot windows to get your job done because Wine won't cut it in that case.

I've already done the googeling and tested the freeware.
So, what are the paid $2k video editors you mentioned?
I am willing to pay that price if they are any good.

    I was afraid of that.
I really hope something better will come around soon.
Dual booting just because of one software is kinda silly, not to mention waste of disk space.

Piranha and Cinelarra come to mind.
Don't know if Blender is any interest for your needs either.

Thanks. Haven't tried Piranha, but the two other ones doesn't really work for fast editing.
And blender is too advanced in the sense that you have to do 10 different things in order to achieve one simple thing.

Okay. Just to give you guys an idea of what type of editing I need to do, here are some of my favorite youtube poops:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Adb-UMvGfM
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFU1Rei97b4
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d16gRyIoy0
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlpiXcRt4LU
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8mibNvkMsM
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_NVUhkp5rs

    Then there's Tennis:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GG1KrYzifj4
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGaGDf1vRhQ
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhwL2-td_y4

Tennis is when you take a source and turn it into art of colors and sound.
YTP is when you take one or multiple sources (usually something that sucks) and make make them do and say funny stuff, as you can see above.

So that's pretty much what I need (and what we need in Linux). A video editor that not only has awesome effects but also able to handle 100s of smaller video clips at once without crashing.
It obviously needs fast editing tools. It also needs duplicate, cut, pitch, tempo, zoom in and out, chroma key color and background effects, blue screen, the ability to crank the volume to max (for ear-rape),
These things has to be easily accessible from keyboard shortcuts like with Vegas.
You need to do these things fast because you don't wanna be able to over think a joke and change it again and again till where it's not funny anymore.
And since you're working with multiple video clips, you need to have them easily accessible on one place (drag n drop).
You also need to have 100 duplicated millisecond clips without being worried about rather or not the application is gonna crash.
And of course you need a responsive playback.

So are there any video editing software out there for linux (free or paid doesn't matter) where I can do this?

Hm, how about something like this? It's platform independent ...

That's just an online video editor with pre-built templates mainly for vlogging purposes.

    Bump!
    Anything?
Price tag doesn't matter. I just want to know what alternatives there are.
I've been through everything that's free, and they all suck in one way or another.
    So don't bother.
Someone said something about $200 video editors.
