Can someone please send me a Xubuntu disc?

    Greetings,
I have been trying to burn a copy of the Xubuntu distro to a blank DVD rom disc for a few days now, but my laptop's DVD burner doesn't seem to be burning correctly. It just keeps wasting the discs I feed it and all end up with are corrupted .iso images that are no good. I have tried using several other burning apps. but keep getting the same bad, corrputed disc images. The optical drive seems to be able to read discs fine though.

I have given up on trying to burn an image myself and was wondering if someone on this forum might be kind enough to burn a copy for me and mail it to me via snail mail. I have three blank DVD discs left and I can send you one if you wish.

I was trying to burn Xubuntu 12.04 LTS.

If you're interested, please leave me a private message.

    Thanks

Hmmm.... try using Unetbootin and a Flash drive with 4GB space, formatted in FAT32. Works every time

If you want a DVD there are lots of online shops selling them cheap.

This is not meant to be demeaning, but are you making the common mistake of copying the ISO instead of burning it? Simply copying an ISO to optical media accomplishes nothing. To burn it you need Brasero or the like. Is that what you are doing? Test the validity of your procedure by burning something else. If the source ISO came from a musical CD you'll be able to hear experimental results immediately. You've got hosed equipment or you're doing something wrong if it doesn't sound right. Regards.

In working with *nix...There be dragons. Newcomers: I recommend reading Linux is Not Windows (http://linux.oneandoneis2.org/LNW.htm) and The Linux Command Line (http://www.linuxcommand.org/tlcl.php) before beginning your quest for a better OS.

Get unetbootin - if you're using *buntu you can install it. If not find it on the net http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

    Once it's installed.

Plug in your USB - formatted to fat32

    Start unetbootin.

Point it to the iso file

Press start/go or whatever it's called where you are and wait for it to finish.

It's pretty straight forward using Unetbootin or Pendrive Linux, I have done it even with 1GB usb.
If by any means you can't do it, PM me your addres and I will mail it.
