This has been going on for some time, wish they would fix (or allow the partition window to be re-sized. Actually did cause me to screw up an existing win7 partion once, though obviously some fault lies with me. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...y/+bug/1262260
I haven't seen that. Is it possibly hardware related?

I will follow up on this, but it may be after 12.04.4 releases next Thursday.
I just checked for first time in a while. While it still jumps it's not as bad as before, it seems I'm getting a bigger window now so all but one entry is visible. (so in that case the jump to top doesn't matter. On the road so will recheck on my smaller, more partition populated laptop at home whenever I return... ot - the same issue in synaptic does drive me nuts... (has been noticed so hopefully a fix at some point https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...c/+bug/1259725

Over the next few days I'll be testing 12.04.4 images. Once that's done I'll compare the behavior against a Trusty install while the Precise behavior is still fresh in my mind
It would be much better if partitioning window could be resized.
Not a Canonical employee just a volunteer _____ Remove old kernels (Ensure you do the dry run first in step 6 )
