    Libre Office Default Setup

    Hello all

I use Libre Office 4.0 and I'm having trouble finding where you set the default options when you open the application.

I want it to start with a specific font and font size, amongst other things.

    Thank you

You can find them in tools --->settings ( or options, I am translating from my spanish menu)---> libreoffice Writer --->basic fonts, and there you select for the default ones, also you can specify the size of the font in this window.

The other option is to create a template.

Open Libreoffice>Set the font/size and anything else you want in the untitled document that opens (margin size, whatever)>File>Save as template>My templates>Save>Add template name.

Double click on 'My templates'>select your new template>Set as default.

    That's it.

claracc's approach is equally feasible, but I've never tried that way.

    Re: Libre Office Default Setup

There are other things I would like Open Office/Libre Office to default to, including having the header and footer "off" by default, instead of "on", and for spreadsheets to always display a grid instead of having to check it each time I start a new spreadsheet. I have spent a lot of time (on OO anyway) trying to figure out how to set the defaults without much progress.

Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

You've just skipped past the answer. The method I have already outlined should work. Create a template.
