12.04 kubuntu USB freezes
I'm having a problem with my USB ports freezing. After a period of time that is rather random, my USB 3.0 ports will freeze and no longer function. my USB 2.0 port doesn't work due to hardware damage. The frozen USB 3.0 ports won't even notice that I've unplugged anything.
If I could somehow completely restart the entire USB system, I think that would solve the problem when it occurs, but currently my only option is to reboot.
This happens regardless of which devices are plugged in.
There are those who have stated online to restart the USB module ehci_hcd. I've a feeling that would work. Problem is, that's builtin in 12.04, so I can't just turn the module off.
Any suggestions? if an output would help, I'll gladly provide it.
