Problem booting on Mac iBook after installing grub2

    Hi,

Lubuntu 13.10 on Mac iBook G4.

I installed grub2 in order to boot into an older kernel (see this thread). To do this I followed the instructions here.

However, when I start the computer I get this error message:

"Invalid memory access at (code numbers)"

I am then dumped in Open Firmware.

There is a bug describing a similar issue here, and I have applied the suggested work around, but it makes no difference.

I can boot but only by entering Open Firmware and booting from there. Before installing grub it would automatically boot into Lubuntu.

Now I would like either to fix this so that grub loads normally, or failing that, remove grub. Can anybody please help me to do either of these?

    Many thanks.

    Thread moved to Apple Users.

Perhaps someone here will be able to assist better with this issue...

I went for the nuclear option and installed fresh, so I can't mark as solved, just no longer in need of help. I won't be trying to install grub again. Thanks.
