UBUNTU 10.10. OLDER Dell PC and a new HP 5520 printer

    Help,

I cannot get the HP 5520 Printer to work.
I have downloaded the correct software hplip-3.13.11.run.

When I try to print, the arrow goes around and around on the printer so I know it is trying to print.
The photocopy and self-test feature works so the printer is good.

Please do not make me go to windows 8.

    Thanks,
    Randy

I wouldn't be so cruel, but I suggest you begin with a fresh install of one of the 13.10 Buntus.
