I am a little confused about your post. Are you trying to set up the MFC-240C using 12.04?
If so, have you followed the instructions on the Brother site? Is it to be a usb connection or network?
It is MFC-240C printer with USB. I don't find driver in my computer. I tried to download but could not.
Can any body help me to download and install driver step by step? Thanks.
Download the driver from http://welcome.solutions.brother.com.../en/index.html.
Follow the instructions here:http://welcome.solutions.brother.com...tion_prn3.html
The instructions are step by step.
i am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. What is my OS? Linux rpm or Linux dev? I want to download scanner driver.
you will need a debian package for ubuntu
That would be the deb file, rpm is for redhat and similar distributions.
Ubuntu and it's siblings use deb.
The instructions on the Brother site will walk you through the installation of the scanner driver.
Download the 64bit version of brscan2-0.2.5-1 for your install.
On the Brother site the page that displays the preliminary steps is not working as of right now. Hopefully it gets repaired or no one that has not remembered the preliminary steps or saved them somewhere will be installing a Brother printer on Linux.
sorry to hear you are having a problem panorain;
when I click on the link I use http://support.brother.com/g/b/index.aspx it works ok from here; I click on a country; then enter the model; that I want linux; then that I want debian; and then get the option to download the brother installer script
