    mount Ubuntu one locally

    Hi

Is it possible to mount my Ubuntu One space as a local device?

    Thanks

You can access Ubuntu One via FTP (https://one.ubuntu.com/help/faq/how-...ftp-on-ubuntu/), which mounts your space as a local drive. But, in my experience, you can't actually work with the files, e.g. open and edit them, in the U1 area. You'd still need to copy them to your computer to do that.
Please, people, remember to BACKUP before you install that new system. Same if you're upgrading.

    Thanks Irihapeti

That may be what I need... I'm thinking of using a different backup software that doesn't integrate with Ubuntu One in the same way as Deja-Backup does, but will only back up to a folder... so maybe if the ftp bit works that'll do..

    Worth a try...

    Cheers
