    Deleted ubuntu dualboot, messed up grub and cant boot from cd

    Hey guys. i have a lenovo y580 that i dualboot ubuntu and windows 7 on. please esxcuse my gtammar and spelling im on an old acer with a bad keyboard right now
    so
    when i paritioned to get ubuntu i got rid of lenovos one key recovery
    i deleted the ubuntu parition without properly swappng something and now i get the grub rescue> no such partition error
    i know that ii can fix it from booting on a livecd or usb and go through the terminal to get the bootloader back
    issue is somehing is wrong with my lenovo and i cant boot from a cd or usb when i coul before
    i did go into either the f12or f2 settings to put the dvd drive as priority but it still doesnt boot onto my w7 recovery disk or ubuntu livecd
    im exhaused ant think myonly option is to send it to microenter orsomething
    all help is appreciated

    Some computers seem to lock up. And a full power down may reset it.

    You need to remove battery, and hold power switch for a few seconds to drain any remaining energy.

    Then see if you can get into BIOS.
