Cursor jumps when I lift my finger off the touchpad

I have a Dell 17R (5737). The cursor moves just fine, but every time I lift my finger off the touchpad, the cursor jumps (apparently my finger moves slightly, or the skin releases from the touchpad slightly).

Is anyone else having this problem?

Is there a config file I can change to fix this?

I am having the exact same problem, It is annoying to say the least, and makes parking the cursor above a smallish page element (like scroll arrows) nearly impossible. My machine is a Vostro 3550. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
