13.10 - getting HDMI error message in log

Wehn I look at the system log file, I am getting many, many, many messages of the following:

    Code:
HDMI: ELD buf size is 0, force 128
One post on the net said to install fglrx-amdccle-updates - the thng is, I already have that installed. My video (AMD/ATI 6450) needs the "updates" driver information instead of the regular fglrx information - otherwise it pops a box up from Catalyst saying invalid device.

Can anyone help me get rid of this error? It really does eat a lot of space in the log file(s).

    Thanks.

Re: 13.10 - getting HDMI error message in log

    I should add the following:

    - running an AMD/ATI 6450 with the HDMI output going to my TV

    - I read on the net that this can be caused by sound problems when routing sound via HDMI

I first tried changing sound settings to go to the analog device instead of HDMI and rebooted - no differnce.

I tried removing the radeon sound option from /etc/default/grub - the line that allows sound via HDMI to show as an option under sound settings (GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="radeon.audio=1") and rebooted - no difference.

    So, I re-enabled both options.

I will also add that I have previously attempted to get Dolby 5.1 working - and ended up giving up any hope of getting better than simple stereo.... despite having standard hardware (from a new i3/Gigabyte board with standard HiDef sound and HDMI connection via Yamaha receiver hooked up to HDTV which gives no problems with video - but audio sucks (I need to use Plex server to get proper sound!).

Is this error part of this particular problem?
