    play recordings on an Ipad

My parents have an Ipad on which they would like to play recordings from the Mythtv computer I built them. For this they have gotten a Corsair Voyager Air wifi hard-drive. Can anyone help me figure out a way to transcode the videos so they will play on the ipad? I was thinking of something like a script running off a cron job which would transcode all videos in a directory. That way they could just copy the recordings they wanted to trancode to there. However ffmpeg is deprecated, and I can't find ipad examples for avconv.

Which iPad version is it? Different iPad versions can accept different H.264 profiles and levels.

The misleading "deprecated" message refers to the fake, so-called "ffmpeg" from the Libav fork, and not from ffmpeg from FFmpeg.

    Hi,
Depending on how much processing power you have on the mythtv box for streaming, you could try the Torc app for ipad.
