Problem apt-getting pygame

Well I tried sudo apt-get install pygame and I got this error.

jj@jj-Latitude-D610:~$ sudo apt-get install pygame
[sudo] password for jj:
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
jj@jj-Latitude-D610:~$

P.S: Is there a spacific way that I should post code?

jjclonker; Hi ! Welcome to the forum .

That error generally indicates that you have more than one instance of a package manager opening. One can only have one open.
As in the Software Center, or synaptic (if you installed that tool) or an instance of "dpkg".

Close all out and reboot the operating system.
Now try and install "pygame"

Hmm... I tried what you said and I got this:

Hmm... I tried what you said and I got this:

Going deeper, let's try and remove the lock;

sudo fuser -cuk /var/lib/dpkg/lock; sudo rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/lock

Now try and install the package:

sudo apt-get install pygame

Where there is a will there is a way -> workie ?

It seems like I have some deeper isues... I tried the first code and my screen blacked out and said that I had a broken pipe.

When I try to shut down my computer it fails.

When I start it back up it shows about a page worth of text and errors, but then it works just fine exept for the unexplanitory system error that dose not efect anything, but gets anoying after some time.

This has happend to me twice and only happens after I update my ubuntu 12.04.

I re-installed my ubuntu and it cleared the problems up, but when I updated my system they came back.

Sorry if this is supper vage.

P.S.: The double post was because of my slow internet.

As a place to start and see what is happening.

Ok. It is a fresh install, but I did install some ubuntu apps. I have not installed updates untill now. Ubutu is the only operating system on my computer.

You could use the Software centre to install it. Anyway, the name of the package is python-pygame, so you'll need to give:

sudo apt-get install python-pygame
