    search depth deeper than 250

I need to search back on old posts by a user. The search seems to always stop around 250 or so results. In this particular case I need something beyond that limit. I've look in the search and I've looked in my settings and don't see anything about search depth.

Is there a way to return more the 250 results on a search by userid?

I get a feeling people will suggest using an external search engine. So if I wanted to search for your posts, as a starting point I'd enter something like "squakie other search terms site:ubuntuforums.org" in my browser's Google search box.

The best you're going to get is to try searching older post dates with the inbuilt search (which is rather poor) as far as I've ever been able to do.

or - if you use google you could search for the user - and site:ubuntuforums.org and then a custom time range perhaps

You could also use www.googlubuntu.com which is a "shortcut", or could be considered so, to the method suggested by vasa1.

In French we also use et Coll., which means and colleagues (et collaborateurs). It is used to cite the main author and all the others who worked with them.

Just in case you didn't know here's what GoldenDict says about it.:-

    et al

    et al
adv 1: used as an abbreviation of `et alii' (masculine plural) or
`et aliae' (feminine plural) or `et alia' (neutral
plural) when referring to a number of people [syn: {et
    al.}, {and others}]
2: used as an abbreviation of `et alibi' when referring to
    other occurrences in a text [syn: {et al.}, {and elsewhere}]

Yep - used it for years (I'm an old guy). It's just my weird sense of humor when I ask who names their kid et al - you know, like et "Al". My mind works in strange ways, and I just visit this planet once in a while.
