fisrt time having a start up issue

I recently started up lubuntu, had a disk error. Recommended that I needed to fix a disk so I hit the f key, then I said the error had to do with a /tmp directory. It gave me the option to fix/ignore so I ignored it and it seems to be running. Any ideas if this is a common issue?

Next time, hit "y" to fix the error. Disk errors are quite common, and they can happen anywhere at anytime. Normally the file system will fix itself without issue. If the errors are more severe, then it will require some intervention on your part. How old is the disk?

Linux expects perfect hardware. If your hardware is not perfect, you will hear about it.

It is a bit old, so that makes sense. I'm brand new to Lubuntu and Linux in general. So that makes me feel a bit better, will follow the advice for next start. The best part I am finding is that Linux lets you know what's happening all the time. The problem is having used windows for so many years I expect more hidden things.

Linux .. where there are no secrets.
If/when you have some time on your hands, the files in /var/log make for interesting reading. With an open mind that read is never dry .
