I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.LTS 64-bit on an HP Pavilion dm4 laptop. I've been having this issue where, during the shutdown procedure, the white LED light on my network adapter (ethernet port) will inexplicably turn on. If I don't catch it, it ends up draining my battery, and so I'm always lugging my power cord around with me. What's weird is that: one, I never use my ethernet port (I'm always on wireless), and two, the light is not on when the laptop is running -- it only goes on during the last couple seconds of the shutdown.

Has anyone seen this issue before, and if so, do you have any suggestions for fixing it? Thanks!
