    GUI problem

Installed Ubuntu 10.04 in Asus laptop. Everything working well. Changed some graphic settings for the desktop, the page that you get after booting.
The small mouse at the left top of the screen that is clickable and give applications menu is not there anymore. Try to undo changes but are not
succesful. Any ideas???? Thank you in advance.

    Re: GUI problem

10.04 LTS is no longer supported. You will receive no updates, and that includes security updates. Try 12.04 LTS which is supported until April 2017 and see how you go. Best option.

    Re: GUI problem

All good. Be aware that the interim releases 13.04 has eighteen month's support (less than a year left), 13.10 has nine but can be upgraded to the next LTS release, 14.04 LTS, when that is released next April (five year support).

Please mark the thread as solved if/when you consider your problem has been answered. Thanks.

    Re: GUI problem

That is excellent news. Be aware that you will need to upgrade to 13.10 then 14.04 to get there next April or do a full install of 14.04 (pointless doing a full install of 13.10 at that point as it has nine months support so that runs out in May 2014). 14.04 LTS is probably your eventual destination. Good luck and enjoy.
