Access to Mac's File System from Ubuntu Virtual Machine

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 running on a virtual machine created by VMware 6 on a Mac Mini running Mountain Lion.

When I created the machine I checked "Share data with Mac" or something like that.

However, in the Ubuntu file browser (which I like a lot), I can't see how access files on the Mac.

    Thanks much.

I'm not a mac user, but I do use VM occasionally. When you setup your VM, did you setup sharing of your "mac" drives/files to be seen/accessed from within the VM envinronment.
When I setup on my win os, I had to share my HD file partions with the VM envirionment, or else they are not visible.
