Question Scratch programming language - very basic question

    Hi all

Apologies this is a real rookie question.

Could anyone advise, or point me in the right direction, on how best to acquire the Scratch programming language for Ububtu?

I'm rather new to Ubuntu but I'd like to try and obtain scratch via the Ubuntu software centre or package manager if possible. I'd like to have scratch under Linux, for if younger family members express an interest in programming. I'd like to be in a position to help them experience the open source software world in contrast to the corporate software world if they wish.

Would be most grateful for any helpful pointers

    Thanks in anticipation.

You can get scratch through the software centre: just search for it: https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/scratch/. Is it not showing in your software centre?
