    Question: Voice streaming over network

    Hello,

I want be able to have voice conversations through my local network with someone else in a different in my house. Preferrably everything should be configurable via command line (don't ask why) and latency should not be a problem.

I have tried Pulseaudio so far and got it to work, but the version that is in the Ubuntu repositories is old and latency is horrible to the point it's not usable.

Anyone with suggestions? This is a little project of mine, and I did not quite find the right solution using Google.

Have you taken a look at the Ubuntu Wiki on Pulse Audio.

    Hi,

Yes, I have. I got Pulseaudio to work, but performance (i.e. latency) is pretty bad. This won't work for me.

I am also looking at Jack... Any experience with that?
