    13.10 - WebDAV keeps freezing

    Hi all!

It doesn't matter whether I use Nautilus or Nemo in Ubuntu 13.10... either one will let me WebDAV for a *very* short time, and then webdav will freeze. The app (Nautilus or Nemo) continues to work, but I can't traverse directories or copy files etc.

Now, I've never been able to open files directly from the WebDAV connection, but that's a whole other issue.

Right now, I just need to solve what is going on that causes it to freeze after approximately 30 seconds of use.

Any thoughts or steps I can take to debug?

    Thanks!
    Cy

Unfortunately, this seems to be a regression from 13.04. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...s/+bug/1223356

The problem seems to be with gvfs-dav (a component of Nautilus = Ubuntu's file manager), so until it is fixed, if ever, you can use a different file manager that does not rely on gvfs, like Krusader, in which dav shares work fine. See: http://www.krusader.org/
That is the only workaround I could find, for this very annoying issue ...
