Internet connection problem on ltsp fat clients

Hello, my name is Stephen Cook.

I currently have an Ubuntu 12.04 ltsp server running on gnome3 with fat clients. The clients get their internet connection from a separate wireless network. It all works really well (particularly with streaming video, which is why I went with fat clients instead of thin ones) apart from one irritating thing. When the fat clients boot up, they are not connected to the wireless network although the wireless network is visible in the drop down list on the top desktop panel. When the correct wireless network is chosen from the list, the first thing that comes up is a request for the root password. When this has been filled in, it then asks for the password for the wireless network. After this is filled in, the wireless network connects and full internet access is then available.

What I am needing to know is how I can force this wireless internet connection to be enabled automatically on the fat clients at boot-up.

    Any advice gratefully received.
