    A problem starting X after installing 12.04 AMD64

    Hi

I have just installed 12.04 AMD64 on my system. It is a 64-bit system so I assumed all would be good.

When I start the system I get Grub, and being the only OS, I select 12.04. Then I get a purple screen for a second, then a black screen with only a flashing cursor for about 30 seconds or so, then the following:

    Code:
    udevd[128]: timeout: killing 'sbin/modprobe -bv pci:v0001002d00095c55v0000174 ...
The screen is full of this, the numbers on the end change, but you get the idea.

Is it X not starting? Is it a conflict with my graphics card [ATI Radeon 3450]?

    Any help would be grand.
    Cheers.
