So I'm missing Google Reader and I need a good Feed Aggregator for Ubuntu 13.10. Bear in mind I don't have enough $$$ to cash out for stuff like Feedly pro. Any recommendations?

Look at Liferea (in the repos). Also RSSOwl, which is not in the repos. KDE includes the Akregator app. I use Liferea.
Since I do most of my reading online, I have ended up with The Old Reader. I was able to import all of my feeds from the download from my Google Reader.

I find that feedly reader does a decent job and is compatatble with my favorite android google reader app greader pro. No reason to shell out money for pro feedly imo. The most similar to google reader I found is http://www.netvibes.com/en
Whoever came up with the phrase "There is no such thing as a stupid question" obviously never had the internet.
I second http://feedly.com fast, light, capable.
I switched to it after Netvibes wadded itself up with clutter.
