    I think I've been hacked

I have a not-friend who is tormenting me. I just know it. He spoofed me and got me in trouble at work. I don't think he's with the NSA.

but you just don't know. That is ludicrous. I have no reason to fear the NSA. Why is he tormenting me then?

    You are not alone.

Use whatever OS or desktop works for you. Dual boot or use VMs if you want. Backup your computer regularly, and definitely before upgrading, partitioning, or installing an OS.

No support requests by PM please.

You will never get an answer to a cryptic post like yours.

Tell us what the problem really is and someone is more likely to try to help.

Bizarre. We are not psychic and your posts are nonsensical ...

Perhaps you should confront your 'not-friend' directly about this rather than confusing us. Not sure we can help with this even if you do start making sense. This is a support forum for Linux and the area you've posted in is a non-support section.

I don't see anything wrong with any of the links in the OP, as far as the second pastebin, it's not generally a good idea to leave your contact info/email address out in the open like that, otherwise spambots will harvest it.

Re: I think I've been hacked

Your links refer to an issue with getting Ubuntu installed and bootable on a UEFI machine, but your post here talks about suspecting your machine has been compromised. The two things are not going to be related, hence everybody's confusion. Can you clarify?

    1. Are you able to boot Ubuntu? If not get that sorted in the support areas of this forum.
    2. What reason do you have to think someone has had access to your machine? Help for security problems can be found in the security section of this forum.

We're happy to help you, but you need to tell us what the problem is.

Re: I think I've been hacked

I don't have any evidence for the cracking other than this guy has spoofed emails to me before. I guess no one is willing to suggest diagnostics out of the blue anymore. I will assume you are right that the cracking was a red herring. To summarize the links I have already provided 1) now I am at a library, but on my home computer I boot Ubuntu from live CD only 2) when I attempt to boot from hard disk, which is supposed to be set up for dual boot Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.04 I get a red screen that says "operating system invalid." 3) F2 is very sporatic at getting me to BIOS. I have been told to call Sony to see if they can help me fix Windows 8

As far as the email thing goes, change your passwords and enable two factor authentication if possible to prevent an unauthorized user from accessing them.

As far as the Boot problem goes, your other thread should clear that up.

    This one is closed.
