Question How to execute a Bitnami .Run file

I downloaded Bitnami LAMPstack and received it as a .Run file. I'm not sure what to do now? Is it enough to chmod and mark it as executable? If not, what program do I use to open it and execute it so it installs the LAMP stack?

    Thanks in advance,
    Arthur

Re: How to execute a .Run file

Extensions do not mean anything to Linux, so while they are useful to humans, Linux does NOT care. A small number of programs will work with selected extensions, but these are really specific to that tool, not Linux itself.

Might I suggest that you add "bitnami" to the title? That is probably the most critical information to getting help.

Did you know that Ubuntu already has an integrated, tested, customizable LAMP stack available in the repositories?

Did you check the Bitnami. README.txt?
