How can I install my graphic driver in ubuntu 13.10. (Nvidia 740M)

I had installed the deb package from the following link https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/saucy/a...19.60-0ubuntu1 but after I reboot my computer and login to my account the screen was totally black blank, and I can't do anything except reinstall my ubuntu. Are there any other ways to install my graphic driver?

My computer spec is:
Asus K56CB with Nvidia 740M

I have the same problem, I had installed nvidia-319-updates driver on my lenovo Z500, but nvidia-detector doesn't detect vga GeForce GT 740M.

I upgraded from 10.04 and tried to install the drivers using NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-319.17.run, didn't work (failed to create kernel module) , had to restore 10.04 ...
