Change Username?

Back before the forums went down, this was my username and profile.

Can I have the same name back, or is there a way to recover my profile?

You used the wrong gmail in your Ubuntu One account. The system couldn't find a match and created a new forum account.

Please reset your preferred email in Ubuntu One to the gmail registered to the nalgarryn account. If you do that before you next log in, you will do so to the nalgarryn account.

I've tried 4 different gmail accounts and everytime I log in, it just logs me in as esryGeR. Even if I change them to my preferred email, and that is the one passed on to the forums. I know Nalgarryn was me, because I can search the posts made and I remember writing them.

I just realized, sometimes I use (or not) the periods in my Gmail accounts because Gmail is indifferent to their presence... perhaps that is the issue?

I have definitely found the right email address, and it contains no periods, as I found the welcome email I received from UbuntuForums when I signed up in 2010. It came from, "Ubuntu Forumssite@ubuntuforums.orgvia lingonberry.canonical.com."

Even if I make this email address my preferred one in Ubuntu One, and log back in to ubuntuforums, it is not recognized.

I've disassociated SSO from the ersyGeR account, so if you have set the correct email account, just log out and log in again.

The email address for your original account does not have any periods in it.
