No options for Shutdown, Restart Menu from Top bar

I have installed ubuntu 13.10 into the virtualbox and trying to use it but there seems to be one problem. There is no system buttonn at the top where we used to click for the option to shutdown and restart or sleep. What happened to that menu? Other than audio, network and the date, I don't see any other menu there. I thought it was because of the window control it was missing but that is not the case. So asking here for the help.

You can shut the computer down by crossing the Virtual machine's window. When closing the windows, you'll be prompted to either save the machine state, shut down the machine or to power it off. As for the aesthetics of the banner, you could try and install guest additions, which allows a smoother virtualisation experience without the bugs or glitches
