    No big deal but?

We run two ubuntu 12.04 lts computers and one Mint Maya. With Ubuntu I like the fact that I can copy and paste a number, example 1,200,000 and the

calc in ubuntu removes the comas and works just fine. However in Mint maya the calc which appears to be the same you cannot use a comma. You get a

msg. no can do, well at least that is what it means. I wonder why or if there is a fix?

Just a wild guess: it could have something to do with the locale setting. If the Ubuntu machines are set to a locale where the comma is used as thousands separator and the Mint machine is set to a locale where it's not, it could cause your symptoms. Also, check the version numbers of the calcs. If they're different, maybe something was changed in the program.

Ok and thank you for the reply. I will look into it.

Removed Mate Calc in Mint maya and installed Gcalc. Problem solved.
